Dancing, designing, learning, writing and researching art history, chairing cultural events, raising funds, leading cultural tours . . . Either I have pursued the performing and visual arts or they have pursued me!

During high school, I danced with the Atlanta Ballet’s junior company and continued dance as an extra-curricular pursuit while I was earning a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After college, I worked with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as Director of Annual Individual Gifts, and became involved with Young Careers and Peachtree Arts of the High Museum of Art.

I later worked in the travel industry, designing, marketing and leading tours focused on art and cultural events in New York and throughout the Southeast.

I completed coursework in the Master of Arts program in art history at Emory University and worked for an Atlanta art consulting company, curating rotating art exhibitions, and relocating, displaying and installing corporate art collections. Later I headed my own company in design and art consulting, placing artwork in corporate settings and designing residential interiors.

I served for several years on the executive committee of the Board of Directors of the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University, the Atlanta Ballet, and the Ovarian Cancer Institute. I currently sit on the board of the High Museum of Art where I have served four years as the Chair of the Exhibitions Committee.

Now I enjoy a new passion – the role of being a visual artist. I am focused on creating art that reflects my experiences and conveys my passion for color, form, light and shadow. Through the years, I have learned from using different mediums, including oil and acrylic paint, and watercolor, but the medium that excites me and that I now pursue with seriousness is pastel.
